Muscatine Soccer Club Mission: The Muscatine Soccer Club (MSC) is a nonprofit, volunteer organization established to develop and promote the sport of soccer in Muscatine and the surrounding communities. MSC provides an organization through which youth can participate in soccer while developing skills, character, teamwork, and sportsmanship through structured and challenging competition. Together we are building a legacy.
Sportsmanship is a requirement: There is no tolerance for the word I, it is a team sport. MSC provides an equal learning opportunity for all players but does not always guarantee equal playing time. All players of MSC are expected to contribute to the team in a positive manner. Being a member of MSC requires a commitment of both time and attitude by each and every player.
Commitment: Players are assigned to a team for a year (August 1 through July 31). There is a fall league season and a spring league season. Most teams also participate in a winter indoor season. During this seasonal year, most teams compete in a minimum of two tournaments. Commitment levels for various other tournaments will be determined by each team. Additionally, teams will compete in the clubs’ home tournament.
Practices: Team practices are usually held twice a week. The club schedules year-round weekly training sessions that are open to all players, to gain additional technical skills. This means the player could practice up to 3-4 times a week.
League Games: MSC teams typically play in either the ISA Academy League, Illowa Soccer League or ISL League. Games will/can be played out of town.
Fall season runs August-October.
Winter (if applicable) November-February.
Spring season runs March-June.
Fees and Tournaments:
MSC Club fee: The cost of the year commitment will will vary depending on the age group of the team. These fees can be paid during the online registration period or mailed to PO Box 344, Muscatine, IA 52761. Additionally, the annual fee can be paid in one installment or in ten (10) equal monthly installments. The club accepts checks or card payments via the registration site for any payments.
Equipment: Uniforms purchased online cost an estimated $100-$130 for youth and adult sizes. Other required gear includes soccer cleats and shin-guards.
Tournaments: The cost of tournaments outside of the MSC home tournament for the team is divided between all players participating in the tournament. This amount is provided close to tournament time by your team manager and payments can be sent to the club via Venmo @Muscatine-SoccerClub or check to the PO Box 344.
